“For me the best part of this season was not a single moment, but the whole experience.  I was lucky enough to spend a total of 7 and half weeks in the Espace Killy.   I skied with old friends, made many new friends, and was taken on some of the most amazing off-piste routes in Tignes and Val d’Isere. Thanks to everyone who helped make it the best ski season.” Jane Peel, PlanetSKI reporter.

“Kicking Horse, BC, Canada. Steep, deep and oh so sweet.” Craig Burton. Ifyouski.com

“The feeling of flying off the ‘Golden Eagle’ jump in Beaver Creek for the first time. The piste goes from light to dark and flat to super steep as you hit the edge. It was such an amazing feeling, a combination of fear and excitement making for a serious adrenaline rush! I can’t wait to go back and do it again!” Dougie Crawford, British Alpine ski champion.

“The first day of Fynn’s season winter 2009/2010. Fynn (age 4 ½ years old) skied from Savoiliere to Tszoumas (think 850 meters)in Verbier. He had only spent 5 days on the magic carpet at Les Strumpfs the year before so I was a stoked proud Mummy boarder. Just to add after 5 days at ski school Fynn got a badge as blue King – he jumped a class.”  Lynsey Devon, Tui Activity, Sportsworld

“Sitting in the Cairnwell Mountain Restaurant at Glenshee drinking hot chocolate after a magnificent day on the perfect slopes in a winter wonderland.” Alan Veitch, PlanetSKI reader.

“I had an excellent 5 days skiing over the Easter weekend in Tignes/Val, Les Arcs, Ste Foy, La Rosiere/La Thuile with my 2 children. The snow came just at the right time for us and then it was brilliantly sunny and only warmed up gradually, so we had good powder for a couple of days too.  Really energising – not least as the kids are now both deep in revision!” Jeremy Eppel, PlanetSKI reader.

“The best moment of the season was waking up on New Year’s day to fresh powder and a seemingly empty resort.  We skied across the length of the Paradiski area and had the Vanoise express completely to ourselves.  It wasn’t until lunch time that we really started to see the crowds building.  A great day!” Chris Friend, PlanetSKI reader

“My very best moment this Winter was walking out of Martigny Hospital pain free although on crutches with 90 degree movement three days after an ACL replacement and two meniscus repairs. I looked up to the mountains and the relief to know I could continue with my life’s passion was enormous. Thank you so much Olivier Siegrist,  Swiss Ski Team Doctor.” Jo Craig-Humphries, PlanetSKI reader.

“Getting a Ski Club of Great Britain grading card from Roland Stieger saying Purple/Gold. Yippee ! Still not as good as Margaret!” Charles Pritchard, PlanetSKI reader.

“Best moment is a tough one. Mardis Gras was quite chaotic and fun as usual, although the morning after was a contender for worst moment of the season… Day one on telemarks also has to be in the top three but the clear winner was taking my brand new pair of Head World Cups for the first time on a perfect blue-sky piste day. Best ski in the world. Ever. Officially. Seriously, sell your car, or your kidneys or your kids and do whatever it takes to buy a pair.” Guy Ordway, PlanetSKI reporter and instructor for Performance Ski School.

“No contest. Skiing the Verbier itinerary runs of Mont Fort, Mont Gele and Gentianne with my 13 year old daughter on a massive powder day back in January after a week of teaching on the nursery slopes morning and afternoon. We then skied the off piste routes of Highway to Heaven, Stairway to Heaven and finished off by coming down the front face of Mont Gele. What a girl! (Sadly she was involved in my worst moment of the season too.)” James Cove, PlanetSKI content editor.

“What a winter! From powder days to racing days its been a great winter. This question gets no easier each year thats for sure! Realistically it has to be at the British Championships Senior Slalom just as the sun was starting to set over the mountains and turning round to see B CLATWORTHY GBR (15) in massive lights as I skied into 15th place out of the 110 starters. Shame that I couldn’t quite hold it but still finished up in 22nd.” Ben Clatworthy, PlanetSKI reporter.

“(1) Being snowed in at home in the Highlands for 5 weeks from December 18th. (2) Skiing the full vert at Bonneval sur Arc (3)  Skiing the French Pyrenees – better snow, scenery, prices than expected and nice locals/food.”  Patrick Thorne, ski journalist.

“Best was a day out with the terribly nice chaps at Steamboat Powdercats.  The name says it all really — acres of deep, untracked powder in a private concession in the National Forest above the main resort at Steamboat in Colorado. Better skiers than me rate it as some of the best tree skiing in the world.  Second best was living in Washington DC through its snowiest winter since records began in the 19th Century.  Three separate snowstorms of 15″+ will live long in the memory of the Wilson clan.”  Simon Wilson, PlanetSKI reader.

“My best moment of the winter was seeing the clouds part in St Anton, on a day that looked like it could have been a white-out, just in time for us to run the annual Natives Big Air competition on Rendl Mountain.” Iain Martin, Natives.co.uk

“Are you thinking of the end of season? We have just had fresh snow and the entire ski area is still skiable!”  Mike Shepherd, The Ski School, Cairngorm.

“Hiking the Stockhorn in Zermatt this season was a long old bootpack. Tired, breathless and unable to speak, nearing 3532 metres it dawned on us that we had our skins and skinning up to the top would be a lot less effort!  Skins on and fast to the summit, the ski down was well worth the hike and the snow was completely untracked!” Freddie, PlanetsKI reporter and reader.

“Best moments were skiing fresh new powder over Easter on Jackobshorn in Davos. It was truly fantastic to have such wonderful winter like conditions in early April.”  Adrian Lamb, PlanetSKI reader.

AM – Ski Argentiere Glacier in great viz & snow conditions (twice). LATE “FREE” LUNCH – at Refuge in exchange for changing their guitar strings and playing guitar/singing a song… PM – tea with favourite ice-climbing guide. EVE – secret (twice).”  Paulo, PlanetSKI reader.

“Went round a T-bar in the 4 Valleys over and over again taking a different route back to the bottom through deep, deep powder every time.  I think there were about half a dozen other people around.” Alex, PlanetSKI reader.

“My best moment was of course beating Chris and Paul in the Verbier Challenge Cup!!” Neal Wardman, PlanetSKI reader.
