Helicoptered off the hill

What is it like witnessing an accident, calling in the ski patrol and requiring a helicopter to take a person to hospital? What is it like if the victim is your daughter?

“I just wrote the story up as part of my blog on the web site after my daughter had an accident and it has been looked at by loads and loads of people. More than normally read the blogs,” says the PlanetSKI content editor, James Cove.

Now we don’t normally cover what he writes about (rambles on about Smile) in his blogs in the news pages but this one seems to be worth it.

He details an accident involving his 13-year old daughter in the Swiss resort of Verbier and what it was like dealing with it.

A ski accident is never pleasant, though this one did have a reasonably happy outcome.

So here it is.
