SNOW IN THE UK

The storms and cold snap have brought snow to the ski areas of the UK – England and Scotland. And people have been out on their skis. UPDATED

What a weekend it has been with snow coverage across parts of the UK.

Even the cows in Yorkshire looked somewhat surprised at the snowfall.

The short video below isn’t from the Alps but the Yorkshire Dales on Friday.

We’ve pulled together a montage of photos showing parts of England shrouded in a blanket of snow, oh, there are some skiing shots too.

Its definitely SnowVember.

The tow rope at the Yadd Moss ski area got some early season action.

Peter Stockton commented on Saturday’s conditions at Yadd Moss on Facebook.

It’s “better than expected skiing today……..though still a bit combat. Very wet underneath. Still very early season.”

He continued, “We skied with the sheep until the farmer brought them down at the end of the day!”

He also posted photographs of some lovely looking white conditions across the hills.

Moreover there was also action on the Raise with members of the Lake District Ski Club.

The Lake District Ski Club operates a 360 metre button tow on Raise, next to Helvellyn in the Lake District National Park.

There are up to nine distinct pistes available, depending on prevailing conditions, the longest of which is almost a mile long.

The rare, early snowfall on the Helvellyn range gave way to some great conditions on the Raise towlift.

The video was shot on Saturday 19th November 2016.

It’s hard to believe this is England.

Rob Jones commented on the fabulous November conditions from Saturday’s excursion to the slopes.

He said, it is “Absolutely stonking day skiing, up to catsycam, down y gully then on to raise for a few runs, finish off down kepple Cove, fantastic snow. Lots of powder.”

And the photos below say it all.

But let’s not forget Scotland.

Here’s a collection of photos from some of the ski areas in the Highlands.
