THE BRITS 2018
21st August 2017
The British Snowboard & Freeski Championships will be back in Laax next Spring and you can book your place now. NEW
The BRITS 2018 are being held in their adopted home in Switzerland’s famous freestyle resort from 1st to 8th April.
During the week-long event budding freeskiers and snowboarders – some of them novices as young as eight – get to meet and compete against Britain’s world-class talent.
The next edition takes place at the end of a Winter Olympics season so competitors will be mixing it with British Olympians.
GB has put together its biggest and strongest freestyle squad for the coming season so it’s a realistic chance that some of the Olympians will be returning to The BRITS with medals.
The BRITS regularly attract Team GB athletes such as James ‘Woodsy’ Woods, Katie Ormerod, Billy Morgan, Jamie Nicholls, Katie Summerhayes, Madi Rowlands and Rowan Cheshire.
The competition includes Halfpipe, Slopestyle, Snowboardcross/Skiercross, and Big Air, which was on the programme in 2017 for the first time in four years and proved a big hit.
It’s a unique event and anyone with a UK passport can enter and compete for the title of British Champion.
It’s also a chance for talented youngsters to get noticed by some of the country’s top snowsports coaches.
PlanetSKI is a regular and hopes to be in Laax again next April.
Holiday packages have just become available online.
Accommodation and lift pass packages run Sunday 1st – Sunday 8th April and are currently available with big discounts off accommodation.

Swiss International Air Lines fly from all over the UK, and with free ski/snowboard carriage they offer competitive rates to the closest airport, Zurich.

The British Snowboard and Freeski Championships – welcomes seasoned pros, budding amateurs and first-timers. For years it has been pushing professional athletes, while retaining an open-door policy for anyone wishing to give-it-a-go, and more recently for a growing number that just want more than a traditional winter holiday.
LAAX, Switzerland – for 4 years running has been voted ‘Switzerland’s Best Ski Resort’, and in 2016 was also voted “World’s best freestyle resort”, thanks to its 224km of high-altitude slopes, epic tree runs, ultramodern lift system, family friendly set-up and award-winning resort complex – www.laax.com
