Mountain Heaven reveals what’s new this season, including a ski tour in the resorts around Tehran; quiet, uncrowded, a unique opportunity.
Here at PlanetSKI at this time of year we are bombared with press releases and information about the coming ski season from resorts and tour operators.
Extra chalets, upgraded hotels and new destinations.
Our ears pricked up at the news from Mountain Heaven.
It is offering skiing in Iran.
Quiet, uncrowded and peaceful is how the tour operator describes the skiing in the mountains around Tehran.
Managing Director of Mountain Heaven, Nick Williams, will lead the tours himself.
The first tour departs on the 3rd March, 2018 and returns on 12th March.
The second tour will be 11th March – 20th March.

So, what is happening elsewhere in the Mountain Heaven empire?
It’s out with the old and in with the new:
“We have been very busy over the last few months reviewing our chalet portfolio. We have ceased operating any chalet in our portfolio that we considered to be not 100% up to the Mountain Heaven standard,” said Nick Williams.
“We have stopped offering Chalet Lupins in La Plagne 1800 as it was outdated, Chalet Zibeleine also in La Plagne 1800 as it lacked en-suite facilities in some bedrooms and was too far away from the piste together with Chalet Aimee and Valerie in La Rosiere due to quality issues and a lack of en-suite facilities.”
In France and Switzerland there are added custom built chalets.
- Chalet Valariane in La Rosiere with 4 bedrooms and a hot tub.
- Valariane is a catered chalet in the Les Eucherts area of La Rosiere.
- Chalet Grand Chardons and Chalet Petit Chardon in La Plagne 1800.
The La Plagne chalets will have access to a heated outdoor pool together with other leisure facilities, including a squash court.
A luxury chalet is planned for next season – Winter 18/19 – in Morzine – keep an eye out on the blog…

- All-inclusive holidays can now include travel by direct Eurostar on a Saturday
- Independent train travel for guests
- Self-catered options in some catered chalets to help you save ££
The difficult exchange rate means Mountain Heaven is trying to find way to keep the cost down for you.
The catered chalets offering self-catered weeks are Chalet Epilobe in La Rosiere, Chalet Louis in Courchevel Le Praz, Chalet Eagles Nest and Golden Eagle in Courchevel Moriond (1650) and Chalet Petit Chardon in La Plagne 1800.
But it is the skiing in Iran that has grabbed our attention.
And maybe, just maybe, PlanetSKI will be on the trip in March…. watch this space.
