2 LITTLE CHALETS, 2 HUGE SKI AREAS
10th December 2018
In all the ski areas in all the world, we’ve picked just two residences found in two reasonably local resorts to us in the Alps.
Discover the world of the Paradiski that includes Les Arcs, La Plagne and Peisey Vallandry.
It’s a mega French ski area with cool views overlooking Mont Blanc and stretching to down towards Italy.
Peisey-Vallandry is the small, hidden area at the heart of Paradiski.
It is made up of 2 twin resorts nestled amongst the trees.
The villages combine great skiing with authenticity, and are found at the base of the Paradiski’s Vanoise Express lift.
La Plagne on one side has 10 high-altitude ‘village’ sites dotted over the mountain and with Les Arcs located on the other side, Peisey Vallandry is sandwiched between these two big sisters.
Together they make up an enormous ski area;
One of the most famous in the world that boasts the Bellecote glacier at 3,250m and the spectacular views from the Aiguille Rouge.
Ski Amis recognises the charm quiet ski village within the huge ski area with its class skiing.
Chalet Sermoz is a traditional alpine chalet in Peisey that sleeps up to 14 people.
It’s part of Ski Amis’ premium service catered chalet range and is available to book as a group or as an individual.
Right at the foot of the Vanoise Express, it is very well connected to the larger Paradiski area.
In the village of Peisey there’s also a 6-man chairlift to take you up into the main areas of Les Arcs.
It goes directly to the top of a beginner’s area with access to blue, red and black runs descending back down to Plan Peisey.
The chalet has a very spacious living room with high ceilings, an open-plan and social dining with the fireplace adding to the cosy feel.
The living room balconies give cool views of the Vanoise Express link and across the valley towards La Plagne.
With it’s south facing aspect, you can relax in the sun or in the beautiful hot-tub facility for the use of our guests.
What better way to review the chalet though, than hear from guests who’ve stayed:
… fab time … chalet was lovely, very spacious, clean, warm and comfortable and well situated … chalet couple were without a doubt the best ski hosts we’ve ever had (and we’ve stayed in a lot of catered chalets)… food they cooked was amazing – it put me to shame! … all round it was a fab holiday. Linda, Chalet Sermoz, January 2015
… chalet hosts were first class providing excellent food with nothing being too much trouble … whole week was fantastic. John and Diane, Chalet Sermoz, January 2015
… holiday was made so special by your hosts … they were an absolute credit to your company … professional but also incredibly approachable and friendly … catering skills were superb. Every meal was a joyous event. Carey, Chalet Sermoz, January 2015
… great hosts made our holiday completely stress free … Louise, Chalet Sermoz, December 2014
Now for the second chalet in another huge French ski area.
Can you guess which?
Ski Amis has several chalets for ski holidays in Les3Vallees.
In the resort of Les Menuires, to be exact, which is situated in the Belleville Valley:
Just below Val Thorens – above St Martin de Belleville.
The resort is at the linking point between Meribel and Val Thorens via one of it’s 4 summits, the Mont de la Chambre, and is an excellent base from which to access the entire ski area.
(Quick secret – there are actually four valleys to explore):
Back to Orelle or over the tops of the mountains to Courchevel – buy a Les3Vallees ski pass and burn around the area.
The gondola lift where you stay in Bruyeres takes you to the top of Mont de la Chambre at 2,850m.
The resort has been awarded the “Family Plus” award for it’s facilities for children and families.
It’s definitely a firm favourite for young families.
There’s a whole host of activities for when you’ve had enough of skiing; a huge, newly updated sports centre with swimming pool, fitness room, sunbeds and spa and childcare.
There’s also a tabogonning piste, “Speed Mountain”, snowscooters, quads and buggies if you fancy something a little more adventurous.
Chalet Delfina is one of the five catered chalets located in the “Chalets de Bruyeres” development in Les Menuires.
Okay – maybe this one isn’t so little as you can book out all five chalets in the Bruyeres building which can sleep 75.
Planning a party?!
The Chalet de Bruyeres is located on the piste right on the doorstep of the Bruyéres gondola lift – you honestly can’t get much closer so no hoofing around in ski boots.
The gondola lift takes you straight up to the peak above the Meribel valley (Mont de la Chambre at 2850m) from where you can ski down into Val Thorens, Meribel or back to Les Menuires.
The centre of the village has all the amenities including a swimming pool, ski school and creche next door and nightclub 200m away.
All bedrooms are en suite in Chalet Delfina.
There’a a fire and lounge perfect for board games, a sunny terrace and a hot tub with views over Val Thorens.
What have guests said?
