Our intrepid Scotland reporter, Rod Frazer, has been out on the slopes for the first turns of the season.
Recent snowfalls means that there are some of ski touring options in the Highlands.
“I skinned up Cairngorm yesterday and had good snow cover all the way back to the car park,” said Rod.
“Lift assisted skiing is limited at the moment to lower beginner runs on Cairngorm and also at The Lecht.”
And here is what it was like:
In the west of Scotland, Glencoe has had a snowy weekend and is planning to open up up to mid mountain this week.
Over at Nevis Range the gondola is now operating after its autumn shut down period.
The resort is planning to open for snowsports on Thursday 19th December.
Rod runs the accomodation company, Where Stags Roar, with his partner Dianne.
