Some skiing and snowboarding is on offer on Friday after the resort was closed on Boxing Day due to the fire.
The hire shop is open and ski school is running.
There are though limitations.
“Please note we currently have no base station cafe and have a temporary ticket office. Please bring cash if you can as most of our card machines have melted,” said the resort.
“Our accommodation, showers and toilets now have power but please note if you are staying with us you will need to be more self-sufficient than normal as no food available in the evening onsite.”
“Thanks to the hard work of Alan from Winterhighland we now have some comms restored and some of our webcams are now working again.”
Snow cannons have been working hard on Friday morning for those heading to the resort.
Glencoe, back to work
“All ski lessons are cancelled and accommodation bookings for the 26th Dec are also cancelled as we currently have no power to the lodges, we will be working over the next few days to remedy this,” said a statement from the resort on Xmas Day after the fire.
“All our comms are also currently down so apologies if we are difficult to get hold of over the next few days”.
“We hope to be able to re-open for skiing, snowboarding and sledging (weather permitting) on the 27th Dec. Updates to follow…”
“Thank you for all your messages and offers of support, they are massively appreciated by us all.”
An investigation is now underway.
Here at PlanetSKI we will be updating this story as we receive more information.
