It’s not been much of a Christmas holiday for some of GB’s athletes. A handful are back to work.

There’s alpine and cross-country action to get stuck into over the next few days and into the New Year.

The women are competing in the alpine World Cup this weekend.

Alex Tilley and Charlie Guest will be representing GB Snowsport in Lienz in Austria.

Giant slalom and slalom races take place there on Saturday and Sunday (28th and 29th December).

Highlights of the finals will be shown on Eurosport 1 at 1900 GMT on Sunday.

Tilley has had a great start to the season, picking up four top 30 places in World Cup races.

Heavy snow forced the cancellation of her last scheduled event, the alpine combined in Val d’Isere on 22nd December.

Guest was 29th in the World Cup parallel slalom in St Moritz on 15th December.

And she was on the podium twice in the Europa Cup earlier in the month.

She finished second and third in two slalom races in Funesdalen in Sweden.

The 14th edition of the FIS Cross-Country Tour de Ski (by Le Gruyère AOP) begins this weekend.

The event takes place over several stages in Switzerland and Italy until 5th January.

Lenzerheide in Switzerland is first up.

Andrew Musgrave, Andrew Young and James Clugnet will be on the starting line this Saturday and Sunday.

Musgrave and Young will also line up for the stage in Toblach, Italy, on 31st December and 1st January.

Andrew Young secured a top 10 place, finishing 8th in the 15km cross-country in Davos earlier this month.

Meanwhile, another recent highlight that almost passed us by…..

She’s now looking forward to the Slopestyle competitions which begin in the New Year.
