£1 MILLION FOR A SKI TRIP - Jane Peel, Chief Reporter
Tuesday August 21, 2018 - Email this article to a friend

Is this the most expensive ski holiday ever? It's being touted as the ultimate heliskiing trip but will anyone book it?

Maybe, if you're a Russian oligarch or you've just won the Euro Millions lottery.

If you've got the dosh, it certainly appears to be a ski trip like no other.

James Orr Heliski has joined up with SuperYachtsMonaco for the 7-night (yes, only 7) experience to Greenland.

Guests will stay on the luxury super yacht, the MV Cloudbreak, which has been adapted to Arctic conditions.

They'll fly direct from the ship's helipad with their mountain guides to be dropped on some of the most inaccessible mountains in the world.

Multiple helicopter drops each day are promised, followed by gourmet dining and fine wines back on board.

The bad news is that it will genuinely cost you from £1 million.

The good news is that the price is for up to 12 guests in 6 bedrooms, so that's less than £90,000 each if you can fill the yacht. (Lots of rich friends?)

There's a crew of 22 - almost two per guest.

"This really is the ultimate experience for the wealthy adventure seekers out there," says the company's founder, James Orr.

"Heliskiing has a reputation for being expensive, and despite the fact we have heliskiing holidays costing around £2,000 per person, this one is on the other end of the scale completely.

"Greenland is a spectacular place to ski and the remoteness means that it's possible to drop onto unclimbed mountains and make first descents.

"The ship itself is like a cross between the most advanced military hardware on the sea and a luxury 5-star hotel, it really is completely unique".

I guess it would need to be.
