SNO not only has a huge catalogue of luxury accommodation but has also collected the best brand new, high-end hotels opening this winter.

We have to start with this quote from SNO - a company dedicated to finding you winter sports lovers the perfect holiday in a top destination with the finest accommodation.

"If David Niven, yardstick of old-world charm and savoir faire, were still skiing today, he'd be staying in an exclusive ski hotel (though perhaps at the invitation of some glamorous European minor royal).

"Want a grand alpine lodging worthy of 007, but can't call Stephanie van Monaco to borrow her hotel?

"Peruse the finest selection of stylish luxury hotels in the world's most exclusive mountains."

So, what makes a genuine luxury ski hotel?

It's so hard to know what you're doing over the internet, especially when the criteria for star-ratings varying from nation to nation.

We can't just take a 5* ranking at its word - and images can be so misleading.

Rely on globally-recognised awards, Michelin merits, personal reviews, and, of course, professionals such as Sno which has collected its luxury hotels very carefully.

Sno has the grand, old, classy hotels to modern and chic places.

It chooses its hotels on impressive architecture in the mountains, the best staff at every corner, a restaurant that's fully-booked, and the standard of the wellness facilities - so important during winter breaks.

Now we have an idea of what SNO will offer and that we trust its taste, let's get into it...
