Inghams puts down its 'fab 5' fashionable ski resorts for those wanting to ski in style this winter.

Or maybe you don't want to ski at all, and spend time in the mountains with all the luxuries.

We couldn't think of a more perfect environment for a relaxing winter holiday than in the snowy mountains.

But what is your idea of a fashionable ski break?

Do you like the glitz and glamour with champagne bars, shopping and fine dining?

Or the quieter, classy side of things, of course still with fine cuisine.

Perhaps being in the scene in the rowdiest bars in the coolest ski resorts is your idea of the best?

Here are Inghams' top five ski resorts for fashionable breaks away this winter season:

CORTINA, ITALY

This gem is known as the 'Queen of the Dolomites'.

Cortina is considered one of the most glamourous of all the Italian ski resorts, and aren't Italians after all the epitome of glamorous?

The high street, the Corsa Italia, lined with designer boutiques, art galleries and even some antique shops.

It is a classy life, and slow, sunny aperitivo is drunk from mid-morning in the cafes and bars right through to the evening 'passeggiata' stroll.

It is the ideal place to people watch - life is slow, leisurely and glamorous.

The jagged peaks of the Dolomite Mountains are just incredible, and it's no reason so many just take them all in from down in the town.

But if you are getting up there, Cortina boasts access to nearly 1,000km of downhill skiing and is one of the most filmed and photographed resorts in the Italian Alps.

The resort was a prominent location in the James Bond film, For Your Eyes Only.

Inghams is offering a 7-night stay on a half-board basis at the 4-star Chalet Hotel Parc Victoria from £549pp.
  • This includes return flights from Birmingham and airport transfers.
  • The package is valid for travel departing on 15 December 2018.

COURMAYEUR, ITALY

Located in the Aosta Valley, it's another favourite for fashionable Italians.

Skiing in the shadow of Mont Blanc, local cuisine, gorgeous cobbled streets down in the town full of lounges, cocktail bars and chic clubs.

The slick Skyway Monte Bianco cable car brings riders to the border with France and some of the best off-piste skiing to find in Europe.

Inghams is offering a 7-night stay on a half-board basis at the four-star Hotel Cresta et Duc from £849pp.
  • This includes return flights from Gatwick and airport transfers.
  • The package is valid for travel departing on 15 December 2018.

ISCHGL, AUSTRIA

Close to Innsbruck, Ischgl combines traditional, Tyrolean charm with an urbane, glitzy atmosphere.

The town centre and main street is lined with high-end, swanky shops, a stylish range of hotels, restaurants and bars.

The skiing is first class, with an ultra-modern lift system providing access to the 238km of piste.

If you hadn't already heard, Ischgl is renowned for its après ski with many-a Champagne bar.

The renowned opening party this year sees American R&B star Jason Derulo take to the stage.

Inghams is offering a seven-night stay on a half-board basis at the 4-star Hotel Jagerhof from £949pp.
  • This includes return flights from Gatwick and airport transfers.
  • The package is valid for travel departing on 5th January 2019.

WHISTLER

It's one of the world's premiere ski resorts for its ski terrain.

Not to mention stunning scenery, top quality hotels and friendly locals.

Then there's also the legendary apres scene or, for an easier ride, hang out in one of the many village cafés and watch the Whistler-world go by.

Whistler village is less a resort town and more like a fully equipped luxury town, complete with boutiques, jewellery shops, and up-market sports gear stores.

Inghams is offering a seven-night stay on a self-catering basis at the 4-star Whistler Peak Lodge from £991pp.
  •  Includes return flights from Heathrow and airport transfers.
  • The package is valid for travel departing on 19th January, 2019.

COURCHEVEL, FRANCE

It's the luxurious resort of Les3Vallees - though the rest are really upping their style game - where skiers are as perfectly groomed as the pistes.

Courchevel 1850, the highest village in the ski resort, has a host of boutique shops selling high-end luxury clothing, jewellery and perfume.

Incredibly, there are five Michelin starred restaurants in Courchevel.

Inghams is offering a seven-night stay on a catered basis at the four-star Chalet Hotel Les Anemones from £736pp.
  • Includes return flights from Gatwick and airport transfers.
  • The package is valid for travel departing on 15th December 2018.
