Les Carroz has cosy cottages and gourmet dining spots, with snow sports to do and intense landscapes to take in.

Best of all, is getting there.

Les Carroz is very easy to access making it ideal for a day, a breakaway weekend or a week-long stay.

E-Fat, the mountain bike for snow with XXL tires.

It's biking designed for very snowy terrain and you can take to the slopes, before they've opened when it's quiet or even early evening and take them on on wheels.

These bikes can have batteries, as well, if you need a little extra help.

It costs from €39 and is a great way to mix up the winter ski holiday.

Biathlon initiation

Set off on a cross-country skiing route kitted out with a rifle.

The challenge?

Successfully lowering your heart rate to leave no room for error when shooting a laser rifle.

It costs just €5.

Alpine coaster

Day and night, thrillseekers take to the rails for an adrenaline rush over hundreds of metres.

Descend at full throttle with banked turns and glides through the forest.

Not planning on such rushes?

Reach new heights and head to the summit with a free pedestrian round-trip on the lifts.

The views are something really special.

As a family, tackle the slopes of one of the largest skiing areas in Europe, while also enjoying the village's many different activities.

Another dining spot, this one a favourite of guides especially, is Les Servages.

The chef, Pascal Flécheau, has been awarded a two-hat rating by Gault & Millau.

Lastly, you'll need to know where to stay.
