Monday February 11, 2019 - Email this article to a friend

Snow has been falling in the Alps as the half-term holiday starts. Now the sun is out. PlanetSKI reports from the Alps.

The weather has now cleared across the Alps.

Our latest images come from Obergurgl in Austria.

On Wednesday the PlanetSKI editor, James Cove, was at the high altitude resort of Stubai in the Tirol in Austria.

With his eye on conditions elsewhere too:

The slopes of Stubai were near deserted, with a bit of fresh snow off piste too.

PlanetSKI reader Martin Dennant is in Alpe d'Huez in France.

"This week Sunday and Monday were cold, snowy and windy" he told us on Wednesday evening.

"The sun came out yesterday and the wind dropped off today.... similar forecast for the rest of the week.

"Lifts are busy this week especially now the sun is out - French and public school holiday."

"Wherever you are skiing in the Alps (or the Pyrenees) this half-term, it looks like snow conditions will be pretty good, at least on-piste," says Fraser Wilkin of weathertoski.co.uk.

See here for Fraser's last main snow report for PlanetSKI:

Over the last few days PlanetSKI has been skiing in Stubai, Kuhtai and Nordkette and seeing the huge amounts of snow that has fallen this winter with our own eyes:
