HEADING TO LES 3 VALLEES?
Friday March 29, 2019 - Email this article to a friend

Here are top five runs to ski this sunny spring from all corners of the enormous ski area.

Heading out to Les3Vallees this spring for a sunny ski holiday?

The sheer size of the ski area can be a little overwhelming.

How do you start on deciding what slopes and zones to cover when during your holiday?

Here our buddies at Iglu Ski have come up with their five best runs through the entire Les3Vallees.

Iglu's sure you'll be skiing these picks over and over again.

Number 1

Combe de Vallon, Meribel

It's a red run with breath-taking views and even better skiing.

At an altitude of 2,950m, the Combe de Vallon is at Meribel's highest point accessible by the Mont Vallon cable car.

It's a 3km descent, but before you go...

There's a fantastic photo op at the top over the valley below.

It does start off narrow and steep but gradually opens up with some challenging turns.

Its north facing slope provides superb powdery snow all season round.

Number 2

Folyeres, La Tania

Ski through the trees on this blue run.

This scenic route through the evergreen trees leads you into the heart of La Tania's resort centre.

It's a cruising blue run that is steep at the top and widens further down.

For beginners, take this one slow.

Slowly to take in the views looking down into La Tania.

But be careful, this slope does get icy in its shady spots.

Advanced skiers blast down the rolling sections and get those edges in for some carve turns.

It's a great last run before lunch ending at the Ski Lodge.

Number 3

Creux, Courchevel

Another cruisey blue, the Creux is beautiful in the sun, as it often is.

Tackle it in the morning before it softens up with the sun.

Morning is when you'll have the piste freshly groomed and less crowded.

Number 4

Jerusalem, St Martin de Belleville

It's a fast one.

This is also one up there in the Telegraph's list of the world's fastest ski runs.

Jerusalem's natural rollers lead down to the Biolley piste, and from there you can ski down into the sweetest 3Vallees village of St Martin de Belleville.

It is a fairly quiet run but as it's lower altitude, it's one to do mid-morning.

Number 5

Jockeys, Courchevel

A challenging black run in the middle of Les3Vallees to work up to.

One that runs down into the Luxe resort of Courchevel La Praz.

The Jockeys run combines short and steep sections with rolling and wide sectors.

It is a challenge for holiday skiers as well, as it will be a part of the downhill and Super G courses for the 2023 World Championships.
