ACTION IN LES 3 VALLEES - Ian Davis, Les3Vallees, France
Sunday April 7, 2019 - Email this article to a friend

PlanetSKI is going on some high-octane adventures over the next few days. First up it's freeriding with a FWT winner.

Then it's entering the Three Valleys Enduro race and testing out the new Bee & Tyrolienne Zipwires in Val Thorens.

Oh, and then finishing off Paragliding from the Col de la Loze.

How much action can you squeeze into a few days?

Many UK skiers and boarders head over to the Alps for a weekend skiing, the multitude of flying and transfer options mean you can get to most resorts and enjoy 2/3 days on the slopes.

We've decided to fill it with adrenalin.

Weather and body permitting we will give a daily report on this action-packed trip.

Day 1 - Freeride

Should I feel excited, nervous or scared?

It was a mix of all three as I met Jeremy Prevost for the start of our day, an unassuming character who lets his skiing do the talking.

Jeremy has been competing in freeride competitions since the age of 17, his silky smooth style on the piste was a pleasure to follow.

On the small amount of off piste we found he was in a class of his own.

He skis with a ‘slight of touch', delicate on his skis bu ripping massive GS turns and when he took to the air it was with absolute composure.

His favourite spot in the Three Valleys to ply his trade is around the Mont Vallon area which tops out at over 2900m.

It provides a back drop of superb terrain, this is his top tip for the area as its location close to some large glaciers means it acts like a fridge and maintains great conditions.

Day 1 complete, now to move onto the Three Valleys Enduro.

We have woken on day 2 to fresh snow but fog and light rain in the valley so it could be interesting.......
