What is new for the Alterra resorts this year?

Deer Valley Resort, Utah, USA

Deer Valley has long been popular with mountain bikers.

This summer, visitors will be able to explore the Undertow, a new bicycle flow trail on Bald Eagle Mountain.

It's aimed at intermediate riders and the three-mile trail offers exciting riding in addition to incredible views of Deer Valley.

Mammoth Mountain, California, USA

Launching this summer is the Mammoth Mega Zip.

It boasts the biggest vertical drop of any zip-lining experience in North America.

Travellers will hit speeds of up to 60mph and plunge 2,100 feet from Mammoth Mountain's summit to the base.

CMH Heli-Skiing & Summer Adventures, British Columbia, Canada

This takes bucket-list experiences to a whole new level.

CMH Heli-Skiing & Summer Adventures will unveil the Zillmer Canyon Via Ferrata at CMH Cariboos this July.

Led by a professional mountain guide, you can explore the Zillmer Glacier - a place only accessible by helicopter.

Thrill seekers will ascend the mountain through a winding canyon;

Hike alongside the torrent waters of the ancient glacier;

Traverse zip-lines and wire bridges.

Tremblant, Quebec, Canada

Tremblant is set for a good summer with a jam-packed events calendar.

There's the Tremblant International Blues Festival in July with 10 days of live blue music, interactive workshops and delicious food.

There's the festival, Wanderlust, in August which channels relaxation and rejuvenation.

CHASE THE SNOW

Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows, California, USA

Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows in Lake Tahoe announced that it'll remain open to skiers and snowboarders until 7th July this year.

The mountains received record amounts of snow this winter.

Powder fans can continue to ride the mountains all whilst soaking up California's famous sunshine.

LOOKING AHEAD TO WINTER

Steamboat, Colorado, USA

Construction of a new $15 million gondola is soon to begin at Steamboat Resort in Colorado and is set to open in November '19.

The new model will feature a total of 137 cabins and will be faster than the one it replaces.

It'll increase uphill capacity from 2,600 people per hour to 3,600.
