It's June but nobody told the weather gods in the Alps and the Pyrenees. It's been snowing!

Imagine this.

You've just completed the long and difficult task of clearing the massive walls of snow from the roads ready for the summer season.

Then this happens....

The Col de l'Iseran in the French Alps is one of the major summer routes for cyclists, motorcyclists and car drivers.

It's also the access route up to the Pisaillas glacier for Val d'Isere's short summer ski season.

The glacier only opened up for skiing on Saturday 8th June after the road was cleared.

It snowed overnight Monday into Tuesday, making for a difficult journey up the mountain.

Good news for the skiing, though.

The glacier is open until 14th July with skiing from 7am to noon every day.
