It's this week, Monday 24th June- Sunday 30th June, and it's all about introducing people to the wonderful world of snowsports! NEW

The nationwide ski week is in session.

It's all about giving young people the opportunity to get involved in snowsports for the first time.

We reported last week on the event to come:
News from Hemel Hempstead, a real-snow ski slope north of London:

Junior Group Ski Lessons are available from just 4 years old, plus our Beginner Lessons are currently HALF PRICE until 31st August...

The governing body for snowsports, Snowsport England, writes on social media:

It's #NationalSchoolsSnowsportWeek

All week this week, slopes and facilities will be offering FREE or discounted taster sessions to schools all over England!

Snowsport England, along with our partners Halsbury Ski, know how important it is for young people to get involved in snowsport activities.

Which is great for your physical and mental health and wellbeing -

- So make sure you get involved this week and share your snaps 🤩

Pro snowboarder Aimee Fuller has been involved in the bid to get more children into snowsports.

"It's about getting active, having fun with your friends .. and trying something new, fun and exciting for the first time."

World Cup alpine racer Dave Ryding calls the UK facilities 'fantastic'.

He raced around the UK until he was 21 years old, and look at him now - three times competing at the Olympic Games.

National Snowsports Week started in 2016 with about 1,000 participants.

Numbers have risen, year on year.

Can we expect the same trend from this week?

We'll soon see...

From National Snowsports Week 2018:

We don't need to convince you ski readers, we're sure.

But all snowsports are great exercise.

Moreover, they are incredible fun, especially when getting together to do with your mates.

See here as PlanetSKI reported on an earlier national snowsports week:
