Inghams has new ski resorts in its brochure with an exciting addition to get our jimmies jangling for next winter: Japan.

One of the UK's best-known ski tour operators, Inghams, is celebrating its 85th birthday this year.

That's not the exciting news, though.

With the release of a fresh version of its Ski publication, Inghams adds a cool new winter destination to its roster - Japan.

Skiing in Japan is the place on many skiers' bucket list.

Reports of the incrediblly light, dry powder snow has travelled around the world.

That, as well as the fascinating, ancient culture, the wonderful sights and the cuisine.

Where can you ski in Japan with Inghams?

The Hakuba Valley offers excellent off-piste skiing.

It spans 10 diverse ski areas.

All included in one lift pass.

The pass is included in the price of an Inghams holiday (listed below).

Inghams guests can stay in the fun-named resort of Happo-One, with easy bus links accessing the other resorts.

The Japanese Alps were put on the ski map after the 1998 Nagano Olympics.

And skiing in Nozawa was introduced by the Austrians in the early 1900s.

The snow conditions make it a good spot for skiers and snowboarders of all abilities - beginners and experts.

There is varied terrain, long runs and a great section of tree-lined, off-piste skiing.

Plus the area has a reputation for the heaviest snowfall in the Nagano district.

Nozawa Onsen is a resort that started life as a hot spring village.

The first onsen - a traditional Japanese bath house - was constructed in the 16th century.

Today, the onsens are still managed by locals and are very much part of the culture.

It's the perfect way to rest aching muscles after a good skiing day.

Staying here on a ski holiday can range from Western in style to traditional Japanese-style hotels.

Inghams ski holidays encompass an immersive city break to allow you to do just this when travelling to Japan.

Combinations and durations are flexible.

Ski in either one of Inghams' ski resorts and add on Kyoto, the Imperial Capital of Japan for over a thousand years.

All trips start with at least one night in Tokyo.

Inghams offers a five-night trip to Tokyo and Hakuba from £1,869pp, based on two sharing.
