Increase in parent fines for holidays
Tuesday March 11, 2014 - Email this article to a friend

There has been a sharp rise as parents continue to take children out of school for holidays. Peak weeks, especially for skiing, can be much cheaper.

According to a survey carried out for BBC Breakfast there has been a 70% rise.

The programme contacted 34 councils across England.

It follows new legislation that came into force last September.

For the full details of the story see here.

Some are calling for staggered school holidays as we reported in this recent PlanetSKI story.
