Verbier opens new fun run
Sunday October 11, 2015 - Email this article to a friend

It is a cross between a snowpark and a ski/snowboard cross course. More and more resorts are opening up such features. NEW

The new run will be in the Savoleyres are beneath the Taillay chairlift.

It is not aimed at experts and pros but rather intermediates.

It will have banked turns, jumps and even a tunnel.

Last season Verbier put in a ski/snowboard cross course on the La Chaux area in the main part of the resort and it proved to be a huge success.

"It looks set to be a great addition to the Savoleyres area that is often over-looked by people who come to Verbier.  It looks fun, safe and will enhance an area that our instructors use much for teaching," said Julian Griffiths the director of the Verbier ski school, European Snowsport.

Verbier is not the only resorts offering these new features.

Val Thorens in Les3Vallees has created a 900m long course with more than 50 fun obstacles and features. It also has tunnels, bridges, humps and bumps.

The new fun run in Verbier, sponsored by Audi, is set to open in mid-January when there is expected to be sufficient amount of snow.

The resort says it will open earlier if conditions allow.

Here at PlanetSKI we look forward to giving it a go!
