Now we're in September, ski events roll in and this particular campaign aims to drum up more addicts as well as tempt all the old-timers.

Returning for its third year, '30 Days of Snowsport' is almost upon us.

It is part of national governing body Snowsport England's grassroots campaign GO SKI GO BOARD.

Set to return to slopes nationwide from Saturday 24th September, and running until Sunday 23rd October.

The '30 Days of Snowsport' initiative aims to give people new to skiing and snowboarding a taste of what they've been missing.

And for everyone else it gives an opportunity to hit the slopes and get excited about the upcoming season.

'30 Days of Snowsport' will celebrate the kicking off of the winter season with 25 events at 19 slopes and facilities.

It is supported by PlanetSKI partner, Ellis Brigham.

Free taster sessions are happening at Sunderland Sports Complex (25th September & 10th-16th October), Pendle Ski Club (4th October), Ski Kidsgrove (8th October) and also in the build up at Kendal Snowsports Club (18th September).

On top of these free sessions, open days, races, competitions and freestyle events are also planned.

The sessions include fun, family-friendly activities that are open to all ages, with many suitable for beginners and those looking to take up a new sport.

For people who already ski or snowboard, there will be a chance to get the ski legs back or have a go at something different - whether that be freestyle, ski racing, rollerskiing and more.

30 Days of Snowsport has become an important part of the UK slopes calendar and has many benefits nationwide.

"This is a great way to help raise the profile of our facilities in Sunderland and get members of the community engaged in snowsport," said General Manager at Sunderland Snowsports Centre, Dean Randall.

"30 Days of Snowsport is a great idea to get people up, about and active," said Kendal Snowsports Chairman, Steve Lawless.

"At Kendal, we are fully inclusive and welcome anyone young or not so young to take up skiing and snowboarding."

The campaign will coincide with Sportsaid Week that starts on 26th September.

The week is aimed at raising money and awareness for the charity that supports rising stars of the sport.

At Stoke Ski Centre, Freestyle Jam & Open Day is set for 22nd October.

"It will help start winter with a bang," said the GO SKI GO BOARD ambassador, Justin Taylor Tipton.

"We want the next generation of snowsport lovers to find out all about freestyle by coming down to watch. Who knows, next year it could be them!"
