The tour operator celebrates 30 years in the business with its biggest range of holidays and offers to date. NEW

When Ski Solutions started in 1986 quotes were sent out by letter, there was a printer to produce paper airline tickets and the piece of hi-tech equipment in the corner was a telex machine.

People only found out about the snow conditions when they asked the rep on the transfer bus.

Now the internet has changed everything.

There are web cameras, web sites and a mountain of information available at the tap of a button.

Not to mention social media.

"However in a funny sort of way we still do the same thing: offer first class holidays to top-notch resorts and all backed up by our team of skiing and snowboarding experts with a passion for everything to do with the mountains," said the current MD, Craig Burton.

"We still employ the most knowledgeable and articulate ski bums in the business," added Craig.

He was speaking at a special 30th Birthday lunch that PlanetSKI was lucky to be invited to this week.

So, what's new for this winter?

Highlights of Ski Solutions' winter 2016/17 programme include:

- Four-night breaks in St. Anton

- New hotels, including the only 5* property in Les Arcs

"As we're celebrating our 30th birthday, Ski Solutions has its most comprehensive and exciting ski programme in its 30-year history," said Craig.

"New flights with Delta to Salt Lake City mean skiers can fly direct from the UK, while good-value flights with WestJet give skiers in Banff the option to splash out a little more on top-notch accommodation," Craig said about the new season's direct long-hauls.
