Andy Perrin is relinquishing his role as CEO of Hotelplan UK, stepping aside to become part-time chairman.

He is a name not many people outside the UK snowsports industry will have heard of.

But he helped build Crystal from scratch, then developed Ski Total & Esprit Ski and more recently at Hotelplan UK he has been in charge of Inghams.

Many millions of British skiers and snowboarders will have been on a holidays with one of the companies he ran.

He is one of the most influential figures in the UK snowsports industry over the past few decades.

He is succeeded by Paul Carter as new CEO Hotelplan UK.

"This is very much a case of evolution, not revolution. I've had seven challenging but fantastically enjoyable years as CEO, during which we have pulled away from the aftermath of the banking crash to build the successful and growing family of specialists that Hotelplan UK is today," said Andy Perrin in a statement.

"Now I feel it's time to address that notoriously tricky 'work/life balance', and to pass the baton on to Paul and our strong, experienced management team. I look forward to continued close involvement as Chairman with the team and the business, and to supporting them in our ambitions for further growth and development," he added.

Andy Perrin is a highly respected figure within the industry and not one to hold back and keep all his views to himself - see here for an earlier PlanetSKI report as he rounded on the politicians in one of his briefings to the snowsport press!

Paul Carter has been with Hotelplan UK since September 2015.

"It has been hugely exciting over the last 18 months to come back into the world of genuinely specialist tour operating" said Carter, "and I am relishing the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead for our Group. We have a wonderful team of people and some really rich and deep industry experience here, and I can't wait to see all that we will achieve together over the coming years."

Here at PlanetSKI we will be updating this story later with a full profile on Andy Perrin - his impact and influence on the UK snowsports industry.
