The 43-year old will be leaving his job as head of partnerships at the end of the year. He takes up a role with Switzerland Tourism. UPDATED

Simon Henwood has been with the Ski Club for 15-years and his previous job was manager of the club's repping and then leading service.

He will be sorely missed by many at the club and those invloved with it.

"Simon has been a highly valued employee of the Club as Leaders and Resort Manager before moving in to his current role. He is widely recognised and respected throughout the Snowsports industry," said  the chairman of the club, Rob Crowder.

"Although we will be very sorry to see him go we are also pleased for him that he has found another opportunity within which to use his many skills and contacts. We wish him every success for the future," added Rob.

Henwood is taking up the job as Sales Manager for Switzerland Tourism ((UK & Ireland) based at its head office in Covent Garden, London.

He takes over from Heidi Reisz who is retiring.

"The Ski Club's loss is undoubtedly Switzerland Tourism's gain and here at PlanetSKI we wish him all the very best," said the editor of PlanetSKI, James Cove.

"I have known Simon since he started at the club as I was a Rep when he took over running the department. He was always fair, organised and deeply encouraging to us all. But more than that  he is a top guy, a good skier, enjoys his apres ski and has become a very good friend of mine and PlanetSKI's over the years.

"I was sad when I heard he was leaving but after a quick phone call I discovered he was staying in the UK snowsports industry and moving to a new challenge. I raise a glass to his future and look forward to working with him in his new role at Switzerland Tourism."

The club is now seeing change in many of its top jobs - chief executive, chairman, president, treasurer and now head of partnerships.

It is also moving out of its Club House in Wimbledon next month to rented premises nearby.

It is seeking a new CEO after the sudden death of Frank McCusker last summer and Rob Crowder steps down as chairman in November with the ex-treasurer, Malcolm Bentley, taking over.

A new treasurer, Ian Holt, comes in to replace him.

Meanwhile Chemmy Alcott is taking over as president from Frank Gardner OBE.

The Mountain Guide, Nigel Shepherd, has led the Ski Club's Leaders course for many years.  He is also the club's  Alpine Safety Adviser.

This December will be his last Leaders' course as he steps aside.
