It's the season's first Ski Slopestyle World Cup this weekend and GB's Tyler Harding will start his bid to get to the Winter OIympics. PlanetSKI speaks to him.

In Stubai, Austria, the 21-year-old from Halifax will be doing what he likes best - hitting the kickers and rails, throwing some impressive twists, flips and grabs and - he hopes - landing on his feet.

Scoring highly in slopestyle is all about cleanly executing a series of the most difficult tricks you have in your armoury with as much style as you can manage to impress the judges.

Tyler Harding - AKA Tyler Jay Harding or TJ - is capable of all those things.

But so are a lot of other male slopestyle skiers. The discipline is packed with talent and the competition at elite level is fierce.

Meeting the tough Olympic qualification standards is the first step towards Pyeongchang, then it's about staying fit and healthy, and then about getting the nod from the selectors.

There are only four spots in the GB men's team for the slopestyle event.

Britain's top-ranked skier, James 'Woodsy' Woods will, it's assumed, take one.

Harding - who missed out on the Sochi Games - will be doing all he can to secure one of the remaining places.

And here he is indoors showing that, if you have the talent, you can do a flip off the smallest of kickers:
