THE SEASON OF 2020/21 AWAITS

Now may not perhaps be the time to think about next winter, but at PlanetSKI we are.  Big time. We need to stay positive, support the beleaguered snowsports industry and show we care.

Here at PlanetSKI we are posting government advice at the top of every story we write about coronavirus.

Snowsports will continue next season once the coronavirus crisis has passed.

We will be skiing and snowboarding next winter, though it perhaps doesn’t feel like it right now.

At all.

It will be a very different landscape with some companies going bust, many individuals (from ski instructors to bar staff) falling on hard times and resorts struggling.

For people whose holidays have been cancelled by the early shut down of skiing this winter, companies are offering to move bookings to next winter.

“Many of our regular clients are asking if they can to defer to 2021 which we would be delighted to help them do,” said Jane Bolton, the MD of Erna Low, to PlanetSKI.

“We are willing to take options on ski holidays (apartment bookings of all sizes) for 2020-2021 ski season with very low, or no deposits to help skiers out and get them back to the Alps next winter.”

Erna Low, the oldest UK ski tour operator, is not the only one.

Take the opportunity is our view.

Here at PlanetSKI we’ve already booked an apartment in Aosta in Italy for 3-months as our winter base.

We want to show a total commitment to the Italian ski industry that we sampled this winter, before it was all cut short.

Italy needs our help and we are giving it.

100% booking made.

We are also posting all next winter’s deals and offers from the UK ski operators here:

There are some great deals to be had, your holiday is secure and you are making a positive move.

And giving yourself something to look forward to.

Here at PlanetSKI we are currently taking soundings about how badly the snowsport industry may be hit.

Our editor, James Cove, has his contacts book out and is bashing his mobile phone – he’ll be posting soonest once he has spoken to his contacts.

It will not be pretty, but it will be reality.

In the meantime, if you can offer support by an enquiry, a booking or just a social media like then it will be appreciated.

By those trying to re-build the industry with the passion we all have for skiing and snowboarding.

Here’s to next winter folks…
