GB’s No 1 racer puts in one of his trademark second run charges to take 3rd place. He confirms himself as our greatest ski racer ever and congratulations continue to pour in.
He turned on the style in his first slalom run in Adelboden in Switzerland to put in his best run of the season so far.
An even better run was about to come.
Ranking of the 1st round:
1- Clément Noël (FRA) in 53 ″ 01
2- Victor Muffat-Jeandet (FRA) at 0 ″ 41
3- Loïc Meillard (SUI) at 0 ″ 42
4- Marco Schwarz (AUT) at 0 ″ 43
5- Kristoffer Jakobsen (SUE) at 0 ″ 56
6- Sebastian Foss-Solevaag (NOR) at 0 ″ 68
7- Alexander Khoroshilov (RUS) at 0 ″ 73
8- Dave Ryding (GBR) at 0 ″ 76
9- Tanguy Nef (SUI) at 0 ″ 82
10- Ramon Zenhaeusern (SUI) at 0 ″ 91
And then he went up a gear to take a podium spot.
It’s his third podium after coming second in Kitzbuhel, Austria, in 2017 and second in the parallel slalom in Oslo, Norway, in 2019.
First place went to Marco Schwartz from Austria with the German Linus Strasser in second place.
It re-affirms him as GB’s greatest ever alpine ski racer.
“Absolutely inspirational ski by Dave Ryding… can’t believe it. I have lost my voice screaming,” said the former GB racer and Ski Sunday present, Chemmy Alcott.
We too at PlanetSKI HQ were on the edge of our seat cheering him on.
