Kaunertaler has opened some slopes and joins Hintertux, Soelden and Piztal in the Tirol that have already fired up their lifts. Winter is coming folks! UPDATED
September may seem a bit early to start skiing and snowboarding, but the glacier resorts in the Tirol are always among the first to open.
There is limited terrain and it is only the higher runs that are open, but the lucky few are already on the slopes.

We are planning a trip to the glacier resorts in the Tirol in early November once the Covid-19 testing restrictions on coming back to the UK are eased.
Elsewhere at this time of year Zermatt and Saas-Fee in Switzerland are open with some skiing on offer in Val Senales in Italy.
