New drone technology is allowing mountain rescue teams to improve how they search for people who get stuck and stranded amoung Britain’s highest peaks.
Cameras on drones are helping the rescue teams locate people and see the exact details of their predicament.
Plus the drones can now be fitted with lights and loudspeakers to help communicate with those who are in need of assistance.
The new technology has been developing over several years but is now being used in active rescues in Scotland.
The Lochaber Mountain Rescue Team and Cairngorm Mountain Rescue Teams have been using the new technology.
The BBC has reported on the use of the new technology in this report.
