SIGB Snow Test Heads to France in 2023

The annual tests for the UK industry will be held in La Clusaz from 23rd – 27th January. It sees the UK ski industry put next year’s equipment and gear through their paces.

“The test has been specifically designed to suit the needs of all UK snowsport retailers and media, with an incredible range of brands and all the latest kit to try, it’s an unmissable event for any serious UK snowsport retailer,” said the organiser, Mike Jardine.

It is the first time the Test has been held in France.

The Test is open to all UK retailers and media for equipment testing for the following winter.

Registered testers can evaluate skis and boards and record their test results on the dedicated
Test app or old-school score cards.

There will also be boots, accessories and clothing available to try where it matters – on snow,
in the mountains.

Last year it was in Kuhtai in the Tirol in Austria and PlanetSKI passed through to test some of the new models.

Next winter it is earlier than usual to suit the ordering window for both suppliers and retailers.

This move allows a huge increase in potential venues as the January date means SIGB can lower its minimum resort altitude from 1,800m to 1,200m.

“After much evaluation, for the first time in its 20 year history, the SIGB Snow Test is heading to France and the ideal resort – La Clusaz. The resort is very pleased to host the test and will give a great welcome in January,” added Mike.

It has been the venue for many industry and brand tests over the years, with a Test Centre location at La Balme.

It’s terrain is perfect for testing with a huge Freeride reputation – reinforced by one of its top local skiers, Candide Theovox – and it’s only an hour away from Geneva airport.
