Scotland’s ski and snowboard festival has announced a big programme of evening entertainment for the event which takes place over three days at Glencoe next month.
A taste of alpine après-ski is being brought to the Scottish mountains for the first time with a new Après Party event set to join The North Face and Ellis Brigham Snow Film Night on Saturday 11 March.
Another new addition is The Inside Edge – an evening of talks with appearances from snow sports insiders on the evening of Friday 10 March.
Saturday’s Après Party, which is supported by Drygate Brewing Company’s Seven Peaks IPA, takes place on Saturday 11th March from 8pm until midnight.
It features an outdoor DJ stage, food and drink including a special outdoor Drygate bar.
The full line-up of films and guests for the Snow Film Night, and the speakers for The Inside Edge will be announced soon.
Tickets to all these events are available now, meaning people who aren’t hitting the slopes can still enjoy the social aspect of the festival.
For those looking to unwind straight from the piste, there will also be an Après Zone available across the three days (3pm Friday, 2pm Saturday and Sunday) in the base station car park.
On snow, there’s plenty planned for Saturday and Sunday, celebrating the terrain at Glencoe Mountain Resort with on and off-piste courses designed for all levels as well as intro sessions for steep skiing and ski or snowboard touring.
A long list of top ski and snowboard equipment brands will also be exhibiting, allowing festival-goers to test the latest kit with sneak previews of next season’s gear.
A full list of exhibitors, demo brands, courses and sessions can be found on the event website.
“We’re delighted to add to the off-snow aspects of the weekend this year, though the focus is always going to be about the snowsport we all love so much,” said Neil Dalgleish, from event organisers Hillside Outside Ltd.
“With one of the most stunning party backdrops possible anywhere, we think this will be something really special. Now everyone can have a fantastic time on or off the snow – and preferably both!”
The Mighty Coe ski and snowboard festival was created in 2022 partly as a response to the huge upturn in interest in Scottish snow sport during Covid restrictions and also to help showcase Scotland’s snow sport facilities.
“The pandemic provided the perfect excuse for us to showcase just how amazing the Scottish Highlands are for snow sports and backcountry adventures. Now we’re extending the festival with more off-snow programming too.
“We can’t let the Alps have the monopoly on the ‘après’ good times in the mountains; people should be able to have this kind of experience in the UK too.”
Organisers aim to make the event as inclusive and accessible as possible.
“One of the best things about the UK snow sport scene is how everyone involved is so passionate and advocates for the scene here and how we can attract more people into it,” Neil added.
“We believe you can see that reflected in costs and ticket prices being kept as low as possible. We’re proud to work with some truly awesome brands and partners to be able to make all this happen, and special thanks to all the staff and crew at Glencoe Mountain Resort.”
The Mighty Coe will be raising money for Protect Our Winters charity which helps passionate outdoor people protect the places and lifestyles they love from climate change.
