The Tui Airways service from Gatwick to Oslo Gardermoen will depart every Sunday from December 17 2023 until February 25, 2024. A growing number of UK skiers are heading to Norway and it has been a firm favourite of PlanetSKI’s for many years.
The weekly departure will serve the resorts of Kvitfjell, Norefjell, Beitostolen and Geilo, which cater for families as well as beginner and intermediate skiers.
There are also other activities for holidaymakers, such as Nordic skiing and indoor climbing.
“We’ve seen increased demand for the Scandinavian region and Norway has so much to offer guests,” said Crystal Ski Holidays’ managing director, Chris Logan.
“Providing skiers and snowboarders with more choice when it comes to booking their ski holiday is hugely important to us and we can’t wait to welcome them back next season to create more special memories.”
One of the growing attractions of Norway is its snow record.
It has a long winter and is more snow-sure than many resorts in the Alps.
We travelled there last February when snow was in short supply in other parts of Europe.
PlanetSKI was in Norefjell last February as we visited on a rail safari.
We have also skied Kvitfjell, Beitostolen and Geillo that are resorts served by the new flight.
“We’re excited to welcome more visitors from the UK to enjoy the ski resorts on offer in Norway, thanks to the new flight that Crystal Ski Holidays will be offering,” added the chief executive of Norway Home of Skiing, Trevor de Villiers.
“What makes a Norwegian ski holiday truly special is that visitors can combine their ski trip with an ultimate bucket-list holiday experience, such as skiing under the Northern Lights or enjoying a husky safari.”
This time last year PlanetSKI was skiing in Norway, though it was somewhat further north – Narvik, deep inside the Arctic Circle.
