It was a bumper year for snowfall and Colorado Ski Country reports skier visits increased nearly 8% over last year’s total. The final numbers are being crunched.
The company is projecting a record of 14.8 million visitors – that’s 1m more than the previous record set the year before at 13.8 million.
The ski state claims 23% of all US skier visits.
A skier visit represents one person skiing or snowboarding for any part of one day at a resort.
The numbers are preliminary and subject to final adjustment.
