Skiing in the USA on 4th July

Hundreds turned out to hit the slopes of two resorts in California over US Independence Day celebrations.

Mammoth Mountain and Palisades Tahoe saw record amounts of snow last winter and some of it still remains.

They have been coming from far and wide with a bus laid on from the Bay Area of San Francisco to reach Palisades Tahoe.

Mammoth Mountain has been offering a host of activities and events.

Mammoth claims to have the longest ‘wiggle’ in the world.

Who are we to disagree:

Resorts have been making a weekend of it.

And just in case you are wondering Independence Day is a federal holiday in the United States commemorating the Declaration of Independence.

It was ratified by the Second Continental Congress on July 4th, 1776, establishing the United States of America.

Palisades Tahoe is now set to close but Mammoth Mountain hopes it will be offering skiing until the end of July, and maybe even into August.
