Updated:
Some very welcome snow has finally fallen in some ski resorts in Australia.
The lower-altitude resorts in Victoria including Mt Baw Baw, Mt Stirling and Lake Mountain have already shut.
Overall it is a ski season that many will want to forget.
Resorts further north in New South Wales remain open, though it has been a far from bumper winter with some lifts and areas already closing.
Perisher:
Events and activities on snow continue.

Other resorts including Mount Buller and Falls Creek have also shut ski areas early due to a lack of snow.
We earlier reported that Mt Hotham was closing early too, on September 11th, but are pleased to report that this is not the case.
Mt Hotham is scheduled to shut on October 1st.
It has all been a different story in New Zealand with resorts on the North Island reporting record-breaking conditions:
The Winter Games NZ are currently taking place in resorts around Queenstown on the South Island as we have reported on PlanetSKI:
And as for the snow in South America?
In Chile Las Lenas and Portillo have just been hit by a huge snowstorm that dropped 4.2m and 2.5m respectively.
Wow.
Just Wow!
