First Ski Area in USA Opens

The race has been on for a while and the first one to offer some skiing & snowboarding is one you have probably never heard of. NEW
Step forward Ski Ward in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, on the east coast.
It claims to be the first ski area in North America to open for the 2023-24 season.
It has all-weather snowmaking technology that can make snow when temperatures are as high as 76 degrees Fahrenheit.
It opened on Sunday 22nd October.
The two heavyweight resorts in Colorado, Loveland and A-Basin, usually battle it out for the accolade.
The A-Basin COO, Alan Henceroff, has reacted the news.
“With $5 tickets, a couple groomer widths of snow and a carpet, skiers and riders are sliding in New England,” said Alan Henceroth.
“Kudos to Ski Ward for offering up some good, slippery fun.”
