Fancy Travelling on Sunday Rather Than Saturday?

Saturday is the traditional ski transfer day – expect busy airports & packed roads when travelling. In resort there are queues for accommodation, ski hire shops and lifts pass offices. Why not look at Sunday instead?

Pierre & Vacances have added Flaine and Les Arcs as resorts offering Sunday as a changeover day.

The two resorts join other destinations that offer Sunday to Sunday travel:

  • Avoriaz
  • La Plagne
  • Meribel
  • Andorra

Pierre et Vacances provides 30% of all the self-catering accommodation in France and it’s move to offering a Sunday transfer day last winter went well.

We reported on it as the new initiative was launched:

87% of people using its properties in the summer travels on a Sunday, so it is trying to make a change in the winter months.

“We want guests to be able to enjoy a relaxed holiday experience from start to finish,” said the UK & Ireland Sales Director, Groupe Pierre & Vacances, Cathy Rankin.

“By expanding our changeover options for some of our most popular resorts, more guests will be able to say au revoir to desperate Friday nights spent hurrying home to pack and swap traumatic Saturdays spent travelling for a much quieter final day on the pistes.

“Our goal is to help holidaymakers have the most relaxing winter break, and we know expanding changeover day opportunities will particularly appeal to families looking to grab the best possible deal when they hit the slopes next February half term.”
