20+ Resorts in the Alps Open This Weekend

Some were planned, others are due to the significant recent snowfall in parts of the Alps. So, who’s starting for the season? NEW
PlanetSKI will be in Kuhtai in the Tirol in Austria on Friday as it starts its winter, with some of the best early season conditions in recent years.
Fingers crossed the weather holds as another storm is battering parts of the Alps.
Other resorts in Austria opening on December 1st include St Anton, Lech-Zurs and Saalbach.
In France, Avoriaz has announced a partial opening on Friday with the main ski area set to open on December 15th.

In Italy, Champoluc and Val Gardena are opening on Friday too.

Then on Saturday France finally offers a range of options after Tignes and Val Thorens got things underway earlier.

On Saturday some big-name areas open, including
- Val d’Isere
- Alpe d’Huez
- Courchevel
- Meribel
- Les2Alpes
- Les Menuires
- Les Grands Montets (Chamonix)
Italy sees Sestriere fire up its lifts, and in Austria Schlick 2000 opens.
In Switzerland more terrain opens in Verbier, Engleberg and Crans-Montana.
In Norway Norefjell opens and in Slovakia Jasna fire up some lifts.
