The annual festival of snowsports at Scotland’s Glencoe ski resort will take place on Saturday 2nd March. Tickets go on sale today.
This year, in place of a full festival, the event organisers are promising affordable access to snowsports action, skills and entertainment – on and off the hill – all in one day.
The Mighty Coe, supported by The North Face, will include guided backcountry tours and avalanche skills sessions at Glencoe Mountain Resort.
The evening session will bring the Mighty Coe Snow Film Night to Fort William.
The North Face Development Team athletes Matt Pavitt and Jordan Ray will be attending the Winter Sessions and appearing at the Snow Film Night where the organisers there will be a superb collection of films and snowsport based entertainment.
It includes Descendance presented by The North Face and Dennis Ranalter, IF3 Breakout Skier of the Year.
Giveaways, free beers and pizza will be available at the snow films session, hosted in the Highland Cinema in Fort William.
“It’s going to be a fantastic day. We’re delighted to be working with some top athletes and mountain professionals to give access to some fantastic times on the hill, crucial skills and education, and not least an amazing night out in Fort William,” says Neil Dalgleish from Mighty Coe organisers, Hillside Outside.
“Big thanks to The North Face for supporting The Mighty Coe and making this all possible.”
Emma Pearson-Pope of The North Face says the company is delighted to support The Mighty Coe.
“Exploration is for everyone so we’re thrilled to support an event that promotes accessibility, safety and fun in the mountains,” she says.
“We can’t wait to watch people develop their skills during the Winter Sessions and get motivated for seasons to come at the Film Night.
“It’s going to be the perfect embodiment of our Never Stop Exploring ethos.”
Places for all sessions are limited, and high demand is expected when tickets go on sale at 5pm today, Thursday 15th February on themightycoe.com
Proceeds from the evening will be donated to Glencoe Mountain Rescue Team and Protect Our Winters.
