A handful of high-altitude glacier resorts are open with some of the best conditions in recent years. UPDATED
The heavy end of season snow in April and May, plus recent storms in the Alps have led to good summer glacier skiing conditions.
There is skiing and snowboarding on offer in Austria, France, Italy and Switzerland:
- Hintertux, Austria
- Tignes, France
- Val d’Isere, France
- Cervinia, Italy
- Passo Stelvio, Italy
- Zermatt, Switzerland
Flying over the Alps in the first week of July revealed some remaining snow.
See here for further information on summer glacier skiing in a related PlanetSKI article:
The vast majority of the high alpine passes have now been cleared of snow, but with some snow remaining to the sides of the roads.
