More Snow Falls at Australian Ski Areas

It was a poor start to winter in Australia but another big storm has been rolling through with more to come. UPDATED

Another 25cm has fallen in places with more in the forecast.

The resorts are celebrating on social media.

Perisher Ski Resort in NSW reported on Tuesday morning 12cm fell overnight and more is expected in coming days.

“If you’ve been feeling the cold, it’s nice and chilly here at Falls Creek. It’s a high of -3 degrees today so rug up and get out here on the slopes” said Falls Creek Field Marketing Manager, Betony Pitcher.

“We’ve had freezing cold temperatures with this polar blast and it’s been snowing all day and all night and there’s plenty of fun here at Falls Creek.”

The cold spell could bring dangerous weather conditions across the southeast of the country, with those in the alpine region told they could expect winds of up to 110km/h.

Blizzard conditions are expected with travel being considered dangerous in places.

It follows a poor start to the season.

Here at PlanetSKI we’ll be updating as the snow falls so do check back.
