Ski Club Rep Service Expands

The Ski Club of Great Britain has launched three new resorts in the Alps where its reps will be based throughout the winter season.

The resorts are Alpe d’Huez, Morzine and Serre Chevalier, all are in the French Alps and are popular with the Club’s members and the wider British ski and snowboarding community.

There’s now a total of 29 resorts where Ski Club reps are based during the winter season, showing a real return to pre-Covid numbers.

Ski Club reps are there to facilitate social activities for members of the Ski Club, organise group activities and provide information to members in resort.

They can also ski socially with members who wish to join them on a daily basis.

The Ski Club also sends its reps on its 160 plus Freshtracks ski holidays across Europe, North America and Japan.

“We are delighted to expand the Ski Club Rep service to three new ski resorts in France,” said the Ski Club of Great Britain COO,  James Gambrill.

“We can’t wait to help enhance skiers’ experiences in Alpe d’Huez, Morzine and Serre Chevalier, along with many other ski resorts around the world.

“The Ski Club Rep service continues to be a successful way for skiers to come together in resort and enjoy the mountains with fellow enthusiasts”.

New Ski Club video launches

A new video to showcase the Ski Club and how its members can ‘Discover Better Skiing’ has just been launched across its channels including YouTube, Instagram and Facebook.

Ski Club’s Environmental Fund kicks in

Before the Covid-19 pandemic, the Ski Club decided to put a levy on its membership of 50p per member to build a fund to help with environmental causes.

This was then stalled during the ‘Covid period’ but there is now currently around £30,000 in the fund.

For this winter, a plan to spend around a third of that money will see it going towards helping more skiers move from flying to surface travel between the UK and the Alps.

The funding will go directly to SBiT (Seasonal Business in Travel), who are working on implementing this scheme.

New benefits for members

The Ski Club of Great Britain also offers over 120 discounts for its members across a number of categories and it continues to expand for the 2024-25 season.

There’s now £40 off CARV and £100 off many holidays with partner tour operators alongside a growing number of hotel and independent travel discounts too.

Leading ski and travel insurance

The Club’s industry leading Platinum Travel and Ski Insurance allows for up to 60 days skiing per year and includes off-piste without a guide, outside of the resort boundary area.

Adult membership starts from £80 per year.
