Austria Looks Forward to the Coming Ski Season

Austria is a popular choice for British skiers and snowboarders with a growing number discovering its charms. We’ve asked our friends at the Austria National Tourist Office to tell us of its attractions. NEW

“Autumn is in full swing with the temperatures dropping and the leaves turning in colour,” said Martina Jamnig from ANTO.

“But, being Austrians, we are already thinking one season ahead and counting down the days until we can finally put on our skis again.

“And we know, many of you are doing the same!”

Winter in Austria isn’t just about the skiing part.

This year UK skiers and snowboarders are invited to embrace the full deal, to have fun on the slopes, but also experience our alpine lifestyle first-hand, or, as the Austrians call it – “Lebensgefühl”.

The pride with which you will be served your first schnitzel or Kaiserschmarren.

Or the joy of hurtling down a mountain together with the locals.

It is a lust for life, for the natural world, and for the community and culture embedded in the very bedrock of the Austrian way of life.

This winter Austria has a brand new website .
