Cabane Tortin looks more like the lair of a Bond Villain than a ski cabin. It comes at a price CHF 60,000 (£53,4000) for a 3-night stay. Check out the images.
It comes with a private chef, dedicated mountain guide and all the luxuries of a five-star chalet.
It is claimed to be the most exclusive new ski retreat in the Swiss Alps and opens on 15th December 2024.
Strictly speaking it is in the Nendaz ski area area rather than Verbier.
Bond Villain Lair Meets Eco-Luxury: Designed by award-winning Norwegian architect Snorre Stinessen, this cantilevered glass structure sits 3,000m above sea level.
Unparalleled Access: Ski-in, ski-out directly onto the Tortin Glacier for world-class freeride terrain. For the less adventurous, arrive via Can-Am (tracked vehicle) across the glacier.
Ultra-Exclusive: Only 8 guests maximum, with a dedicated staff including a private chef and mountain guide
Sustainability Meets Luxury: Built on a pre-existing foundation to minimise environmental impact, featuring solar power and water sourced from a natural mountain spring
Price Tag: The base price for up to six people staying three nights is CHF 60,000 (£53,400)
For touring enthusiasts: When Cabin Tortin isn’t booked privately – adventurous ski tourers can use the downstairs high-end mountain refuge “Bivouac des Gentianes”
“Being at 3000m we recommend a few days acclimatising in Verbier before heading up. It is an exceptional place offering a unique experience,” said Camilla Brownlow from Mountainbeds, one of the agents of the Cabane Tortin.
Mountain Beds has been Verbier Experts for over 30 years and has access to a huge range of hotels, apartments and chalets, both catered and self-catered, in the Swiss resort.
