The snowboarder takes top spot in the FIS World Cup Snowboard Big Air. It cements a good start to the season as she looks ahead to the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics in 2026. UPDATED
The 17-year-old slopestyle World Champion was second after the opening run with a back double 1260 weddle, then came a disappointing second run in China as she was unable to stick the landing on a cab 1440 stalefish.
With the best two runs to count, she scored 94.00 on her final run as she did stick her landing.
It was the highest score of the day and gave her a total of 179.75 and her first World Cup title.
She now has six World Cup podiums and four in the Big Air discipline.
Brookes is the reigning Big Air World Cup Crystal Globe holder, having finished top of the season standings last year.
The result gives Mia her second podium of the season, following a second place finish in the Cardrona, New Zealand, Slopestyle World Cup in September
She is one of GB’s top hopes for the next winter Olympics and this season will be an indicator of form.
So far things are looking rather good.

Mia Brookes came second in the Winter Games NZ FIS Snowboard Slopestyle World Cup.
She finished fifth in her opening Big Air competition in Switzerland in October.
The next big air contest of the 2024/25 FIS Snowboard World Cup circuit will take place in Klagenfurt, Austria 3rd – 5th January 2025.
