Ryding in Top Ten in Val d’Isere

The Rocket comes 9th and GB’s Laurie Taylor takes 12th place in the Val d’Isere slalom. It was a great day for British slalom skiing. UPDATED
After the first run Dave Ryding was 1.5 second off the pace and in the Top Ten.
He then put in a solid second run and clinched 9th place.
The race was won by Henrik Kristoffersen from Norway with Ryding 1.22 off the pace.
The slalom leader in the World Cup campaign going into the Val d’Isere event Clement Noel from France, did not start after he sprained his ankle in a crash in the giant slalom on Saturday.
GB’s Laurie Taylor put in a fabulous second run moving from 20th to 12th.
Billy Major was 40th after the first run and did not progress to the second run.

PlanetSKI was slopeside for the last slalom race in Gurgl in Austria where Dave came 7th.
PlanetSKI editor James Cove interviewed him afterwards in the World Cup media centre.
Since then the GB team has been training in Finland and arrived in Val d’Isere a few days ago.
