They will go to 15 gateway airports in the Alps and beyond.

The French ski gateways of Chambery, Lyon and Grenoble will be served by more than 50 flights a week in the peak season.

Ski routes will also run to Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Finland and Bulgaria.

Airlines offering flights to winter sports destinations include British Airways, EasyJet, Norwegian, SkyAlps, Swiss and Tui Airways.

“Every winter we welcome more than a million passengers jetting off with their skis and snowboards, so we know how popular these destinations are with our passengers,” said Gatwick aviation development vice president, Stephanie Wear.
