The Munich Regional Court has ruled that the FIS plan, as it stood, constituted a “deliberate restriction of competition” under European antitrust law, in violation of free market rules.

The court issued an interim injunction in favour of the DSV, preventing the FIS from proceeding with the centralised marketing of media rights on the terms proposed by the FIS for the 2026/2027 season.

FIS described the ruling as “completely wrong” and said it would appeal.

The ruling only applies to the German Federation, but other National Bodies have been following the case closely with some also opposing the move by FIS.
